Dr. Mohammed Abdul Gawad, a member of the board of directors
of AbdulGhani Holding Company and its advisor, holds a Ph.D. in Industrial
Engineering and is also a distinguished university professor in his field. He
has had a rich career marked by achievements and diverse experiences in
teaching and consultancy.
He began his professional career as a lecturer at Zagazig
University in Egypt, starting as an assistant lecturer in March 1992 until
1998. He then worked as an assistant lecturer at the same university until
1999, and as a research assistant until 2004, before becoming a lecturer until
2006.
Subsequently, he was appointed as an assistant professor at
Garyounis University in Libya from 2006 to 2007, and at King Khalid University
from 2007 to 2012. He then moved to Umm Al-Qura University in 2012, working as
an assistant professor until 2018, where he was promoted to associate professor
since 2018.
Dr. Mohammed AbdulGawad is an expert in the field of
Industrial Engineering, having taught numerous courses including Introduction
to Industrial Engineering, Engineering Economics, Deterministic Operations
Research, Production and Inventory Control, and Control Systems, among others.
He has several publications in prestigious conferences and
scientific journals, contributing to papers related to Industrial Engineering
applications and advanced manufacturing methods.
Dr. Mohammed Abdel Gawad's role extends beyond academia; he
has been actively involved in consultancy. He provided extensive expertise as a
feasibility studies consultant at the International Inspection and Quality
Services Company from 2000 to 2006. He also offered consultancy services to the
Misri Factory in Egypt from 2004 to 2006. At Zagazig University, he served as a
quality unit consultant from 2005 to 2006.
His consultancy wasn't limited to Egypt; he also worked as a
consultant for project studies and management at Garyounis University in Libya
from 2006 to 2007. Subsequently, he served as a project management consultant
at Umm Al-Qura University from 2015 to 2016.
Also, he contributed to the development and re-planning of
Zamzam Water Factory, specifying requirements and studying proposals for a new
production line with high production capacities and rates.
He conducted developmental studies to enhance the AbdulGhani
Jewellery Factory in Makkah, developing and establishing new production lines
to improve costs, reduce the human resources needed, enhance product quality,
and open new markets for advanced designs. He also worked as a consultant for
AbdulGhani Gold and Jewellery Company since 2012.
Furthermore, he led the implementation of Lean Manufacturing
principles in 5 factories in Badr City to minimize waste and increase
productivity.
Additionally, Dr. Mohammed AbdulGawad was appointed as a
consultant for the development of Hajj transport services by the General
Authority for the Development of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and the Holy Sites,
conducting qualitative and economic studies aimed at improving these services.
Among the consultancy projects he undertook was his
involvement in occupational health and safety consultancy at Zagazig University
in Egypt. His consultations also included risk assessment and identifying ways
to reduce potential risks for 28 hospitals in the Sharkia Governorate, in
addition to the Health Directorate building.
